    First time out

Saturday was my first time out fishing since last July.
A lot of life changes had made it difficult.
Living in St.Thomas Ontario now, close to two lakes and plenty of rivers and streams.
Saturday I fished Catfish Creek near Sparta Ont.
On about my fith cast I tied into this brute.
He gave me a good 8-10 minute fight.

At about 5 pounds this male Rainbow Trout put up a great fight in the rapids.
He hit on a #3 Blue/silver Blue fox vibrex
Luckily I was using my 7' StCroix rod equipped with 6lb test on my medium action Pfluger reel.
Also caught two nice smallmouth (released) that were a bueatiful silver color as they were fresh in from the lake.

The fun continued with a Sheephead that I accidently snagged by the tail...at about 3 pounds I had a tiger by the tail.

Its good to be back here posting at A&A and look forward to viewing posts from all my fellow anglers.

    "hooked" -- waa, waaaa, waaaaaa..

The blue fox works well, although we don't have much weed cover on this part of K-bay so I'll have to try it near some shallows soon... perhaps Friday.

Perch dropshot rig is working well. Picks up perch equally as some other funny looking fish that has a flat bottom and square head to him. Anyone know what it is?

The crank bait and spinner is picking up smallies quite well, but they're not in season until Saturday, so I gotta lay of them till the weekend.

Hmmm. A pic would certainly help in identifying the species.
Do you see him here anywhere? http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&...69837884,d.b2U

Either fortunately or unfortunately they are quite real. Some species of cat fish are monstrous. Check out Jeremy Wades program river monsters and you will see.
