    Archers Paradox

Found a really interesting video to demonstrate the archers paradox. Most of us have heard what the archers paradox is in traditional archery... You haven't? Well in traditional archery if you think an arrow flies straight off the bow and heads to its target guess again. When an arrow is shot it wants to follow the path of the string which is the energy behind it. Since most trad bows aren't truely center cut this forces the arrow to curve around the bow then stabilize in flight following the line from which the energy was imparted to the arrow. That is why choosing the correct spine for arrows is of vital importance for good performance and accuracy. If it is spined too light it will bend and twist too much throwing the shot off and going too far right and/or damaging the arrow. If it is too stiff it will not have enough bend and want to tend to go to the left if your a right hand shooter. If the arrow wobbles up and down it is usually a nocking issue. Here is a great vid that illustrates this quite dramatically.

Be sure to always get correctly spined arrows.
