    iShoot 3D Archery

While I was looking at apps for my iPad I ran across this one for all you 3D Archery shooters.
    http://www.ishoot3darchery.com/

It provides archers the ability to use their iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch to collect and store their score during a 3D archery tournament.

    No More Pencils & Scorecards
Today a clip board, printed scorecard, and pencil are required to collect the score. With iShoot 3D Archery, the user predefines scoring and will then use radio buttons to collect scores. At the end of the shoot, your total score and percent of total will be automatically calculated.

    Custom Score Settings
The predefinition of scores by the user is critical because there are several types of scoring that can be used for a particular tournament. Scoring is generally at the discretion of the archery club and/or the tournament sanctioning body.

    Target Lookups
More than 100 photos of 3D targets and the reference scoring ring within the app. This is a feature that will be highly useful as you cannot see from a distance exactly where the scoring rings are on a target.

    Historic Records
Keeping track of your archery tournaments and scores for further data analysis.

Be sure to check tournament rules before using your phone or mobile device as they may not be allowed in some cases.

Great app but I do not think it will be allowed on the line in tournaments.

I hear what your saying Doug and I believe a lot of people will be walking around with them on the course this year. Heck, I know I will.
When shooting tournaments though...not charity tourneys or fun tourneys but the big serious ones LOL!...I've heard some want competitors not be allowed cell phones at all on the 3D course. I imagine a shooter must submit a hard copy score card and I am not sure if you can message a card at competitions yet. Some fear that it could be a way to communicate known targets distances. I know I know....highly unlikely in local tourneys but I guess when you are talking national or international tournaments some can be tempted to take advantage.

From my understanding of the rules, the scoring app is not allowed in tournaments, nor are range finder and cell phones need to be turned off or not used on the course. The ringing alone of a cell can be distracting if your at full draw and someones cell phone goes off nearby. The IBO and ASA have also established those electronic device rules to help prevent any cheating or sharing of information( target yardages, etc.) during a tournament. I also believe the Iphone app and phone mount (Isight) are also not allowed for use in IBO or ASA tournaments.
The only exception to the rules, would possibly be in a marked yardage tournament or fun shoot.
