    Fishing Knots

What is your general all around fishing knot that you like to use? Do you have a favorite or does it depend on the tackle, presentation or bait?

One of my favorite knots that I use is the Trilene Knot. It is very easy to tie and extremely strong. The biggest tip with this knot is to trim it but not too short.
Here is a nice image that can be printed for reference. Fishing Knots-trilene_new-jpg

    Improved Clinch Knot

I started with this knot years ago and it has never failed me.
I have had hooks and swivels break before the knot.
However it is always good to know more than one.

I use both of the above, not sure why I change it up but I do. Both strong and easy to do. It funny cause I have a buddy that still uses a single knot as his go to knot, unless I set his rig up for him.

He likes buying new tackle often, lines spends more time in the boat then in the water.

    LOL
I have a buddy like that, ties a hook like he was tying his shoes.
    Stubborn, wont listen.
He even broke a 7' Ugly stick while trying to horse a snag off the bottom.
Expensive hobby if you are replacing rods and lures all the time.

Yep the hobby is expensive enough without having to replace your gear all the time. On the other hand he has no boat so that a big expense that he can spend on gear.

That is funny guys. I started this thread because of that very reason. I am surprised at the amount of people who fish and do not us a proper knot of some sort.
    Keep the knots coming.
