    Bow question

    Hi guys I'm a new member to the forum. This season will be my first attempt at bowhunting. I wanted to know if anyone has a Martin threshold bow. If so what is your opinion of it. I have an old bow that I've been practicing with but the string broke last weekend. Wanting to buy this Martin bow set for $200 if its a good starter bow. Reviews online are favorable thanks for your help.

    First off let me welcome you to the forum and thank you for joining. We have a lot to offer here including great giveaways.

    There are a lot of very knowledgeable bow people here but there are two guys that come to mind that would be great to help you out;
    • @Bow String Depot - he obviously knows a lot about strings but he is also a Martin enthusiast.
    • @moosemeat - owns his own bow shop and has a plethora of knowledge to share.

    I also own a Martin Cougar. Fantastic bow and it was my first starter bow. Love it and still do to this day. The first arrow I ever put in a deer was with that bow. I don't know anything about the threshold but if it is like any other Martin you can't go wrong with it to start.

    Welcome aboard,
    As for your questions on the Threshold it is what it is, a starter bow and that is it. It is a China made bow and at the very low end.

    That's a nice bow...will definitely keep that in mind when I go to purchase. I was hoping to stay around $200 but I also don't want to waste my money on the threshold when I could buy a little more expensive and it last several years. Thanks
