    Whats the farthest you have ever shot your bow?

    60 yards.. I only have 5 pins.

    But I shoot it pretty decent. Feel more than confident shooting a deer at 40yards.

    My bottom pin is set for 85 yards, drop to the bubble level is just shy of 100. It is a blast to shoot long distance and really improves your short range shooting!

    I agree, shooting long range does help to improve short range shooting. I used to be apprehensive about practicing and shooting long range. It also helps to build your confidence knowing you can shoot at many different yardages and one less thing to worry about in the field.
    Nothing worse than wishing an animal into your preferred yardage.

    Another great practice is to shoot from a number of positions. I shoot from my knees, squatted, rotated as far around as I can without moving my feet in both directions. I also practice drawing while sitting on the ground and shooting from that position. Another great one is to kneel down bend over and draw to the side, rotating up for the shot. It has proved useful twice now while stalking moose.
